Wendy Mitchell Photography | Buffalo Wedding Photography bio picture

Happy you're here!

This site is a collection all all the work (and some personal photography) I've done since January 2009.  Go back through the archives, sort by category, however you'd like to browse.  Stay a while!

A little about me: I grew up in "The Southern Tier" of Western NY, graduated from Falconer High School in 1999, Jamestown Community College (AA in Media Arts) in 2001, and Rochester Institute of Technology (BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration) in 2004.  I have been photographing weddings full-time in the Buffalo area as Wendy Mitchell Photography since January 2005, and it's my most favorite thing to do!  I live in Alden, NY (about 30 min. east of downtown Buffalo) with my husband and our 4-year-old son.

I'm glad you found your way to my site.  Please enjoy looking through my photos, and if you'd like to talk to me about scheduling a wedding or other shoot, please contact me using the link above!

Michael & Bethany – August 28, 2009

Look at this view. Look at it.

Have your reception at the Niagara Falls Country Club in Lewiston on an overcast day. Easy enough, right?

So anyway, Bethany got my name from Annamaria, whose wedding I did back in 2006, and when we met to go over pricing & everything I could tell that she was just my type – fun, easygoing, and happy to let me take care of the details. Rock on. I arrived at her friend’s house to do “getting ready” pictures and got to see a MAC girl doing make-up, which is cool… I don’t usually get to see that stuff! Bethany got dusted with sparkles and I don’t know if it tickled or if someone said something funny…

They had their ceremony at St. Peter’s in Lewiston (which you can actually see from the country club, which I think is cool).

From there we hustled it up to the country club because Bethany was adamant that she did not want to miss her whole cocktail hour doing pictures! Getting off the limo, this was hint #8 that it was going to be a fun night:

What a view, seriously.

My weakness strength – a love of details!

The reception was fab – the food was plated in such a pretty way, each table had its own cake, and the dancing was a documentary photographer’s dream come true.

When the groom’s dad fakes heart palpitations after lively dancing, it makes me smile (as long as he’s faking!).

Guys, I could have easily posted at least 20 more photos of just the dancing alone, but I have to cap it. Congrats, congrats, congrats. I had a wonderful time and hope to see you again in the future – for anything! Congrats!
