I met Melissa 3 1/2 years ago when I photographed her cousin Katy’s wedding. Around 18 months ago, she emailed me to say that she was engaged and would like to hire me for her own wedding! I was thrilled, and we met & chose a package and signed a contract. I love working for people who spend so much time smiling!!
Melissa & her girls got ready at her parents’ home up in Getzville – I loved when she read her letter from Kevin (even if she had a hard time reading his handwriting, it was very sweet!!).
They got married downtown at St Joseph Cathedral, with the wedding mass performed by Melissa’s uncle!
I loved this boy’s face as everyone waited for Kevin & Melissa to come out of the church. His mom told me he subscribes to the thinking that not every picture needs a smile.
We drove up to Niagara Square for some portraits – it was windy but thankfully not too chilly!
They had their reception just across the street at Statler City’s Terrace Room.
When your maid of honor and best man are your sister and brother, there’s a lifetime of material to draw from!
Melissa’s dance with her dad brought on a few tears (from Melissa and from her mom and uncle and several other people!).
They had an Oczepiny, which is a tradition Kevin’s family wasn’t too familiar with, but his brother said if the hat would embarrass Kevin, he was all for it!
