A little about me: I grew up in "The Southern Tier" of Western NY, graduated from Falconer High School in 1999, Jamestown Community College (AA in Media Arts) in 2001, and Rochester Institute of Technology (BFA in Professional Photographic Illustration) in 2004.  I have been photographing weddings full-time in the Buffalo area as Wendy Mitchell Photography since January 2005, and it's my most favorite thing to do!  I live in Alden, NY (about 30 min. east of downtown Buffalo) with my husband and our 4-year-old son.

Nathan is TWO today. Where does the time go?

Nathan was born March 30, 2007.  This morning we celebrated by giving him two presents.

He LOVES vehicles.  Trucks, cars, buses, tractors… anything that rolls that he can push around.

This is the “Rally Racer” by Sprig Toys – made from eco-friendly Sprigwood – a 100% recycled bio-composite material.   When you press down on the back, it makes the driver’s hat light up. I purchased this at Treehouse on Elmwood.

Next is the WoodyClick Car Transporter, which I purchased from Target.com with a giftcard from their Britax carseat “sale” snafu. Nathan LOVES it.  WoodyClick uses water-based stains on wood “to maintain a natural and harmonious look and feel.”

 

He was enthralled with it instantly. I hadn’t gotten a single picture of him looking at the camera yet, so after “Natey, can you look at mommy for a second? Natey? Look at mommy?” I was hoping for a little smile but I got this:

 

Oh well, he’s beautiful looking at me or not!

For good measure, here’s one of my favorite pictures of him from last fall… I get a little choked up looking at it:

Thanks for looking!  I’m disappointed to see SNOW outside, but oh well, it IS still March!

April 6, 2009 - 9:11 pm dominique - Wendy- beautiful pix as always. Sprig cars ROCK! Ethan loves his...we have the yellow one and the BIG one is coming via Amazon this week. Question....what lens do you use? Thanks!

April 6, 2009 - 10:03 pm admin - These birthday photos (and the one with the leaves) were all taken with my 50mm f/1.4 between 1.4 and 1.8. We thought about getting the BIG one but after reading some reviews, we decided it wouldn't work that great in our house - it says to power it enough to play the sound, it requires constant pushing, and we don't have a large living room or area to do that. :(
