My son (age 3 1/2) thinks this is called a Frying (or possibly Flying?) Mantis. It hitched a ride on my husband’s pant leg when he took the boy for a walk the other day, so they brought it home for me to photograph with my new 180mm f3.5L macro lens (which is pretty sweet).
