Today I met baby Kathryn, born July 19. She barely slept! I was there 3 hours and she was just not having it. We tried wrapping her up, unwrapping her, feeding her, changing her diaper… she was just on full-alert mode, but thankfully quiet and happy. I hate that I’m still not 100% confident with newborns as I feel I lack some “baby whisperer” magic that I should have learned by now to get the baby to sleep and turn into putty in my hands, but I hope you guys love the photos anyway! Here is a sneak peek til I can get your full gallery up for you:

Kyle & Brittany – July 24, 2010
Saturday was a rainy day.
I know, I know, “It’s like ra-e-ain, on your wedding day” and all that… Rain + 85 degrees = humidity that no one wants to deal with, and just a bummer. Thankfully, Brittany & Kyle got married at the Millennium and we were able to simulate semi-outdoor settings in a few pictures. They were good sports, and took advantage of the rain and the fact they’d already paid for the limo by going for an alcohol-fueled joyride while their guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the ballroom.
Anyway, picture time! Brittany set the tone for the day (she was so the opposite, LOL):
I’ve had a bunch of brides in flats or kitten heels lately. Tall girls or short boys?
The ceremony took place right in the atrium, after they closed the ceiling due to the rain coming right down onto the carpet!

The reception was when the fun really started – no one seemed super drunk, but everyone seemed to be having a really great time, which was really nice.
Brittany’s grandpa not only requested “YMCA” but did the whole song!
It was the maid of honor’s birthday, and Brittany made sure she wasn’t forgotten.

Any reception with some consensual butt-grabbing and an impromptu limbo line is okay with me!
I am glad I got to document your day for you, and I wish you the very best in life and especially the upcoming school year!
The Tabs Family
In June 2008, I did Tom & Amanda’s wedding. (In December 2005 and April 2006 I did both of Tom’s sisters’ weddings!) In August 2009 I did Aiden as a newborn. Today I did Aiden as an almost-one-year-old!
Knox Farm… I don’t want to get too predictable, but man I love that place.
Aiden went quickly from enjoying the balloons to being completely entangled in them.
Get this boy some goldfish crackers and he’s a happy man!
A man came by on a tractor and Aiden thought it was the best thing in the world.
We snapped a quick family picture while he was still entranced by the tractor as it left… you can see his little index finger pointing at it:

Handy Manny personal sized cake + Aiden = torso finger painting
Another appearance of the goldfish crackers:
Who doesn’t like a little bit of baby tossing?
This sums up how he felt by the time we were done:
It was awesome to see you guys, and I can’t wait to continue seeing Aiden grow up!
Oh, sweet memories
It’s not even the end of July, and I’m already starting to think about picking a day to go up to Becker Farms for our annual Natey-shoot: my little man through the years.
I love when people call me for stuff like this
Meet the Watkins family! I first met them back in October 2008 when Wendy had me come to their house for family photos with the fall foliage. I hadn’t heard from them again til just last week when I got the call that they wanted me to come out again. Wendy is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and wanted to make sure she got some photos done before her hair is gone. It was about the shortest notice I’ve ever had before a family shoot, but the timing worked out great! This time I met them at a barn in East Aurora where their daughter takes riding lessons – and I got to photograph not only their family, but the other girls who were riding there that evening as well!
Here’s a taste of the riding:
